Di van Niekerk lives in Newlands, Cape Town, and much of her latest inspiration comes from the breathtaking scenes on this side of Table Mountain. Di began with needlecrafts at a very young age and is passionate about all embroidery but ribbon embroidery combined with stumpwork is her absolute favourite. She has taught all types of needlecraft for more than 20 years throughout South Africa, training self-help groups in the Eastern Cape and Lesotho. She runs two busy embroidery shops in Cape Town. Author of several books on needlecrafts, Di’s 3 latest titles Ribbon Embroidery and Stumpwork, Dreamscapes in Ribbon Embroidery and Stumpwork and A perfect world in Ribbon Embroidery and Stumpwork are now available from suppliers worldwide.

Di van 現居於南非開普敦市, 是一位很資深有名的剌繡藝術家。她的絲帶繡及立體繡尤其著名。現時她著作的書有：

4.Flower Fairies

除以上的書外，亦有出刺繡光碟、手繪絲帶 ( 超過 130種顏色), 很多款𣎴同款的印圖 (printed pannels ) 供刺繡之用, 而印圖中的 "Flower Fairies" 係列有多越 100 款。

Di Van 在南非設有兩間刺繡商店。她的製作實在令人大開眼界,翠藝有意要把這美麗的剌繡技巧，介紹給香港的刺繡愛好者，與大家一同分享。
